I don't believe piano lessons are one-size-fits all.   I try to tailor lessons to the time commitment each student is prepared to make as well as the skills and styles they would like to learn.  With that in mind, here are some of the launching pads I use during lessons.

  • For traditional piano lessons I use the Piano Adventures series by Faber and Faber as the basic piano course adding supplementary material along the way.   Every lesson in this course, starting in book one, has a digital accompaniment the student can play along with once the lesson is mastered.  This is a wonderful motivational tool!!

  • Lessons are 1/2 hour or 45 minutes depending on the attention span and level of advancement.  I recommend weekly lessons, but am willing to teach adults bi-weekly or on-demand.

  • Lessons are taught in my home on a Techics Digital Piano (SX-PR51).  It's one of the best digital pianos on the market and is great fun to play on.

  •  I specialize in church music and have developed a method called "Keyboarding in Contemporary Worship" that has launched many students into the world of chord charts.  This method can be taught along with traditional lessons or independently.

Pricing:

  • I charge $15 per lesson for a weekly 30 minute lesson for beginning students.  Sometimes I’ve found more advanced students or adults require a longer lesson.  In that case the fee is $20 per lesson for a 45 minute lesson.  There is an additional fee for books to get started (usually around $25).
  • If you have taken lessons previously and would like to continue in the books you have been working in, I’d be glad to accommodate most methods.
